We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team. Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, adhering to company standards and recipes
- Assist customers with their orders, providing friendly and attentive service
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or snacks as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change
- Restock supplies and ingredients to ensure the shop runs efficiently during busy periods
- Support team members during peak times by serving customers promptly and courteously
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to create a safe environment for staff and customers
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in food serving roles is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour to enhance customer experience
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and service are maintained at all times
