Job Description: Physiotherapist – Elective Orthopaedics
Role Purpose: To provide expert musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy support, focusing on early mobilisation and rehabilitation of patients undergoing high-throughput elective orthopaedic surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver post-operative mobilisation and rehabilitation plans to same-day surgery and inpatient orthopaedic patients.
· Provide joint education and support to enhance patient recovery and promote independence.
· Collaborate closely with surgical, nursing, and ward teams to ensure integrated patient care.
· Support enhanced recovery protocols through timely mobilisation and discharge planning.
· Participate in virtual or telehealth methods for patient follow-up and education when appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience:
· HCPC registered Physiotherapist with a musculoskeletal or orthopaedic specialism.
· Experience supporting mobilisation of same-day surgery orthopaedic patients.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Experience:
· Training or experience in Enhanced Recovery Programmes (ERP).
· Ability to support discharge via virtual or telehealth platforms.
Person Specification: Physiotherapist
Essential:
· HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
· Experience in musculoskeletal or orthopaedic physiotherapy.
· Skilled in post-op mobilisation and patient education.
· Effective communicator and collaborator within the MDT.
Desirable:
· Experience with enhanced recovery protocols.
· Competence in telehealth or virtual patient support.
Pay: £560.00-£1,120.00 per day
