Who Will You Be Supporting?
You'll be supporting a friendly young man in his 20s who has a disability. Here's more about him:
- Loves Routine: Following a clear schedule helps him feel safe and secure.
- Active: He enjoys going to watch his football team, Wolverhampton Wonderers (home and away games), cinema and the pub.
- Humour & Fun: He laughs a lot and has a great sense of humour, making your role all the more rewarding.
- Family: This gentleman's family is very involved in his care — he lives with his family, and has a strong, positive relationship with them.
What Will You Be Doing?
Your role as a Support Worker will be varied, fulfilling, and focused on improving this gentleman's quality of life. Responsibilities include:
- Personal Care & Medication: Assist with all aspects of daily living, including administering medication and helping with personal care.
- Community Access: Help support him during his social activities to enjoy life to the fullest.
- Professional: Be attentive to his needs and support him during his access to work.
- Communication & Teamwork: Speak clearly and confidently, work well with your team, and communicate effectively with the family. A willingness to whistle blow or raise concerns when necessary is crucial to ensure his well-being.
Shift Patterns
- AM shifts 2:1 6:30am-10am and PM shifts between: 8:30pm - 01:00am
- Work support shift can vary on times during the day (Monday- Friday with 1 weekend in 4/5)
Rotas provided in advance to support a healthy work-life balance. This young man requires 2:1 support for all AM and PM shifts and 1:1 during social and work support.
Rate of pay: From £13.10- £15.40 per hour.
