We are seeking a reliable and professional 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our logistics team based in Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods across the North West region, ensuring compliance with all relevant transportation and safety regulations. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong time management, and the ability to maintain high standards of customer service.
- Drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle to deliver goods safely and punctually to designated locations within the North West England area.

Load and unload goods carefully to prevent damage and ensure correct delivery.

Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption.

Inspect the vehicle before and after journeys to ensure it is in good working order and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly.

Complete accurate delivery paperwork and maintain records of deliveries, mileage, fuel use and any incidents.

Adhere strictly to all health and safety and transportation regulations, including carrying and securing loads safely.

Communicate effectively with the logistics team and customers to provide updates or resolve delivery issues.

Maintain a professional and courteous manner when representing the company to clients and members of the public.
- Valid Category C1 driving licence with a clean driving record.

Digital tachograph card for recording driving hours.

Basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete delivery documentation accurately.
- Minimum of Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is preferred.
- Proven experience driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle in a professional logistics or distribution environment.

Experience in loading, unloading and securing goods safely.

Familiarity with local routes within Greater Manchester and the wider North West region.
- Strong understanding of road safety and transportation regulations.

Ability to plan and manage routes effectively to meet delivery deadlines.

Good communication skills for liaising with customers and colleagues.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.

Physical fitness to assist with manual handling of goods where required.

Basic vehicle maintenance awareness to identify and report faults.
- Previous experience within logistics, procurement or supply chain sectors.

Familiarity with electronic delivery management systems.

Defensive driving training or certification.
- Full-time role with early AM starts, weekend working is expected as part of your working week.

Work involves regular manual handling and physical activity.

Exposure to varying weather conditions during deliveries.

Time spent both driving and performing loading/unloading duties.
