Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional 7.5t Day Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods to various locations in a timely and safe manner, ensuring customer satisfaction. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in commercial driving and a strong work ethic to contribute to our logistics operations during daytime hours. The Role is also Ideal for new pass drivers looking to get into the industry who may have struggled to get experience required on larger vehicles. This job also offers the potential to move up to larger vehicles after gaining experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 7.5-tonne curtainsider lorry for daily deliveries across designated routes
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring items are secured correctly during transit
- Ensure all deliveries are completed within scheduled timeframes and in accordance with company policies
- Conduct pre trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of each delivery
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Assist with the loading and unloading process when required, maintaining a professional attitude
Skills
- Ideally experience as a delivery driver, preferably with 7.5t vehicles or similar commercial vehicles. However not essential as new passes can apply
- Excellent driving skills with a maximum of 6 penalty points and licence suitable for commercial driving (Cat C1)
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
