We're looking for an experienced, dependable and enthusiastic Second Chef to become one of the key members of our kitchen team.
The White Horse Inn is an award-winning independent village pub, serving high-quality homemade food alongside weddings, private events and seasonal functions. We're proud of the reputation we've built and we're looking for someone who shares our passion for consistency, teamwork and great hospitality.
This is more than just a chef position. We're looking for someone who can confidently work across every section of the kitchen, help lead service and support the day-to-day running of a busy, professional kitchen.
About the Role
Working closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chef, you'll be trusted to step into whichever role is needed on the day. Some services you'll be leading the kitchen, others you'll be working on the pass, grill or pantry, helping ensure every plate leaves the kitchen to the highest standard.
You'll be involved in:
- Running kitchen service when required.
- Working confidently across all kitchen sections.
- Preparing and cooking fresh, homemade food to a consistently high standard.
- Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.
- Supporting stock control, stock rotation and ordering.
- Assisting with menu preparation, specials and seasonal changes.
- Preparing for weddings, private functions and special events.
- Supporting and encouraging junior members of the kitchen team.
- Helping maintain a clean, organised and positive working environment.
