About Padel Republic
Padel Republic is a growing padel club operator creating high-quality, community-led venues where players of all levels can play, improve and socialise. As the business expands across multiple locations, we are looking for a commercially minded, hands-on Club Manager to take full ownership of the day-to-day performance of one of our clubs.
The Role
The Club Manager is the senior person on site and is accountable for the safe, efficient and commercially successful operation of the club. You will lead the team, maximise court utilisation and revenue, grow coaching and events, maintain excellent facility standards and create a customer experience that keeps players coming back.
This is not simply a duty-management role. We are looking for someone who will treat the club as their own business: visible on the floor, close to customers, confident with numbers and proactive in identifying opportunities to improve performance.
Working Hours:
40 hours per week onsite. The role requires a visible management presence at the club and flexibility across the club's operating hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
You will report to the Group Directors and work to agreed weekly and monthly KPIs covering revenue, court occupancy, coaching, events, customer experience, operational standards and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
1. Club Operations & Facilities
- Take overall responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the club across a seven-day operation.
- Ensure courts, reception, social areas, changing facilities and all customer-facing spaces are clean, safe, well presented and ready for use.
- Manage the booking system, resolve booking issues and actively optimise court availability and peak/off-peak utilisation.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash/card controls where applicable, keyholding and site security.
- Manage stock, purchasing and regular stock counts for retail, refreshments and operating supplies, minimising waste and stock loss.
- Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs and contractors, escalating significant issues promptly and ensuring minimal disruption to customers.
2. Commercial Performance & Growth
- Own the club's local commercial performance and deliver agreed revenue, occupancy and profitability targets.
- Monitor court utilisation, average booking value, coaching income, retail/secondary spend, events revenue and other agreed KPIs.
- Identify under-utilised court periods and implement targeted activity to increase bookings, including leagues, socials, coaching, corporate offers and local promotions.
- Drive repeat visits, customer retention and conversion of new players into regular club users.
- Support annual budgeting and provide accurate forecasts, commentary and action plans where performance is behind target.
- Control controllable costs, including staffing, stock, consumables and local operating expenditure, without compromising service or safety.
3. Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate and develop the club team, setting clear standards for customer service, presentation, productivity and conduct.
- Prepare and manage staff and coaching rotas to match trading patterns while controlling labour cost and ensuring adequate cover.
- Support recruitment, induction, training, probation reviews and ongoing performance management.
- Hold regular team briefings and ensure employees understand club targets, upcoming events, promotions and operational priorities.
- Manage absence, timekeeping and first-line people issues in accordance with company policies, escalating where appropriate.
- Lead from the front during busy periods and create an accountable, positive and customer-focused culture.
4. Coaching, Programming & Padel Community
- Work with coaches to build a balanced programme of individual coaching, group sessions, beginner activity, junior sessions, leagues and competitive play.
- Actively drive coaching participation and monitor coach utilisation, programme performance and customer feedback.
- Plan seasonal activity, including school holiday camps, tournaments, ladders, leagues and introductory sessions.
- Deliver regular social and community play opportunities that build a strong club culture and encourage repeat participation.
- Ensure coaches and third-party operators comply with club standards, safeguarding requirements and agreed commercial arrangements.
5. Sales, Events, Partnerships & Local Marketing
- Generate and convert opportunities for corporate events, private bookings, parties, tournaments and hospitality packages.
- Build productive relationships with local businesses, schools, universities, sports clubs and community organisations.
- Own local activation of the Padel Republic brand, ensuring events and club activity are promoted consistently across agreed channels.
- Keep in-club promotional material and digital screens current, relevant and commercially focused.
- Support social media content by capturing high-quality club activity and providing regular local content in line with brand guidelines.
- Track enquiries and leads through to conversion and report on the effectiveness of local outreach and campaigns.
6. Customer Experience & Reputation
- Set and maintain a high standard of hospitality from first enquiry through to arrival, play and post-visit engagement.
- Ensure customer enquiries across phone, email, social media and messaging channels are answered promptly and professionally.
- Take ownership of first-line complaints, resolving issues fairly and quickly and using feedback to improve the operation.
- Monitor customer reviews, satisfaction and recurring issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Be a visible host and ambassador for the club, building relationships with regular players and welcoming new customers.
7. Health, Safety, Compliance & Safeguarding
- Take day-to-day responsibility for health and safety compliance at the club, including inspections, risk controls, incident reporting and emergency procedures.
- Ensure fire safety checks, first-aid arrangements, accident records and required operational documentation are maintained and up to date.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed for junior activity and that coaches/colleagues hold any required checks or qualifications.
- Maintain appropriate standards for data protection, customer information and access to club systems.
- Escalate material incidents, accidents, security issues or compliance concerns immediately in line with company procedures.
Reporting & Performance Management
The Club Manager will provide concise, action-focused reporting to the Group Director. Reporting should explain not only what happened, but why it happened and what action will be taken.
- Weekly: revenue and bookings, court occupancy/utilisation, coaching activity, events, staffing, stock, incidents, customer feedback and key actions for the following week.
- Monthly: performance against budget/KPIs, revenue by income stream, utilisation trends, coaching and event performance, local marketing/outreach, customer experience, costs and an improvement action plan.
Key Measures of Success
- Revenue and performance against budget.
- Court occupancy and utilisation, including improvement of off-peak periods.
- Coaching participation and coaching revenue.
- Events, corporate and private booking revenue.
- Customer satisfaction, reviews, complaint resolution and repeat usage.
- Staffing efficiency, team performance and service standards.
- Stock control and controllable cost management.
- Facility presentation, maintenance standards and health & safety compliance.
- Growth in local partnerships, community engagement and new customer acquisition.
What We're Looking For
- Proven management experience in a leisure, sports, fitness, hospitality, retail, entertainment or other high-volume customer-facing environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience working to revenue, sales, cost and operational KPIs.
- Confident people manager with experience of rotas, performance management, training and leading a customer-facing team.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving seven-day operation.
- A visible, hands-on leadership style and willingness to solve problems rather than pass them on.
- Strong communication skills with customers, colleagues, coaches, suppliers and commercial partners.
- Comfortable using booking/management systems, spreadsheets and performance data to make decisions.
- 40 hours per week onsite, with flexibility across the club's operating hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Experience in padel, racket sports or a membership/community-led leisure business is desirable but not essential.
- First Aid, safeguarding and/or health & safety qualifications are desirable; appropriate training can be provided.

- A high-ownership role with the opportunity to directly influence the success and culture of the club.
- Clear objectives, regular performance reviews and support from the Group Directors.
- The opportunity to grow with Padel Republic as the business expands across additional locations.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
