Uniform Education is recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work at a specialist autism school in Surbiton from September.
The school provides education for neurodiverse learners from Year 4 through to Year 13, with the majority of pupils being autistic. Many students also have additional needs including ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia (DCD) and dyscalculia.
The school prides itself on creating a calm, nurturing environment where pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education can build confidence, reduce anxiety and achieve their potential through positive relationships with staff.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You'll help students access learning, develop independence, regulate their emotions and build confidence throughout the school day.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with SEN experience who enjoys building meaningful relationships and making a genuine difference to young people's lives.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Has experience with Autism (ASD) or other neurodiverse learners.
- Is calm, patient and resilient.
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Is available to start in September on a full-time basis.
Recruitment Process
- Initial interview and registration with Uniform Education.
- Successful applicants will then attend a school interview with the Headteacher on Thursday 4th or Friday 5th September.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Relevant experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Able to travel to Surbiton (KT6) each day.
