Goods In & Dispatch Operative

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Goods In & Dispatch Operative to join our growing logistics team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring materials and customer products move smoothly through our warehouse—from arrival, through processing, to final dispatch.
You’ll be an essential link in maintaining operational efficiency, supporting quality standards, and helping us meet company-wide targets and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Warehouse Operations
- Assist with all Goods In and Dispatch activities as instructed by the Team Leader.
- Maintain secure, organised warehouse, stores, and dispatch work areas.
- Ensure correct segregation of waste and pallets, keeping all spaces clean and tidy.
- Report any issues or concerns that could impact the department’s objectives.
- Follow all documented procedures and company policies relating to Health & Safety, Quality, and housekeeping.
Goods In
- Load and unload vehicles (includes manual handling).
- Book in all material purchases within agreed timescales.
- Unpack and process incoming goods following company procedures, ensuring items remain undamaged.
Dispatch
- Package products to company and customer specifications, ensuring safe and damage-free transit.
- Complete dispatch tasks in line with schedules and procedural standards.
- Load and unload vehicles as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to carry out physical tasks.
- Basic PC/data entry skills.
- Calm, adaptable, and able to work under occasional pressure.
- Strong team-player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- FLT licence (advantage but not essential).
- Full UK driving licence (advantage but not essential).
