Commercial Property Solicitor / Senior Associate – Partner Track
Chatham, Kent / Medway | £60,000–£95,000 DOE + discretionary bonus + additional firm-wide bonuses
Stride Recruitment is proud to be partnered with a highly respected and established law firm in Kent, as they look to appoint a Commercial Property Solicitor / Senior Associate to join their thriving Commercial Property team.
This is a genuine senior-level opportunity for an experienced Commercial Property lawyer, ideally with 6+ years' PQE, although candidates with slightly less experience and a strong fee-earning track record will also be considered.
For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to join at Salaried Partner level, with the firm prepared to offer up to £95,000 (DOE) for someone already operating at that level or simply ready to take this step. Partnership ambition is welcomed but not essential.
The Role
You'll join an established Commercial Property team with a strong client base and a varied caseload of high-quality work.
Your matters will include:
- Commercial sales and purchases for a wide range of repeat clients
- Lease transactions, acting for both landlords and tenants
- Development-related work, including:
- Conditional contracts
- Options and overage agreements
- Planning agreements
- Utility wayleaves and easements
- Construction finance and refinancing
- Pension-related property transactions, acting for professional pension trustees and multiple pension schemes
- Complex acquisitions and disposals involving developable land
- Work for long-standing developer clients
Caseloads are onboarded gradually and can be tailored around your experience and strengths.
The typical split is around:
50% Landlord & Tenant | 50% Sales & Purchases
This can be adjusted depending on your expertise and preferred area of work.
What We're Looking For
- Ideally 6+ years' PQE in Commercial Property
- A strong and demonstrable billing / fee-earning record
- Ability to manage a substantial caseload with a high degree of autonomy
- Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of Commercial Property matters
- A proactive, commercially minded approach
- Excellent client-care skills and confidence dealing with sophisticated, repeat clients
Experience acting for developers, pension trustees or on complex development transactions would be advantageous.
The firm is keen to hear from lawyers who are interested in progressing towards Partnership or joining from day one as a Partner, although this is not a requirement.
Salary, Bonus & Progression
- £60,000–£75,000 for Senior/Associate-level candidates
- Up to £95,000 for Senior Associate / Salaried Partner-level candidates
- A discretionary and highly rewarding bonus structure, tailored to individual seniority and performance
- Additional annual firm-wide bonuses, typically £1,000–£2,000
