Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Night Porter/Receptionist to provide exceptional service during the overnight shift at our esteemed establishment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth night-time operations, delivering excellent guest services, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Multilingual and bilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist a diverse range of guests effectively. Previous experience in hospitality or hotel reception roles will be advantageous. Duties
- Welcome and assist guests arriving during the night shift, ensuring a warm and professional first impression
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently using the reception system
- Handle telephone enquiries with excellent phone etiquette, providing accurate information and assistance
- Manage and promote out of hours bar service
- Respond promptly to guest requests or concerns, resolving issues in a courteous manner
- Maintain security protocols by conducting regular patrols of the premises
- Ensure the premises are presentable and clean at all time, including external areas
- Keep the reception area tidy, organised, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
- Record all relevant guest information accurately and securely in accordance with data protection policies
- Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms are prepared and facilities are functioning properly
- Assist with administrative tasks such as logging incidents or reporting maintenance issues
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel reception or hospitality roles is preferred
- Multilingual or bilingual skills are highly advantageous to communicate effectively with international guests
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills are essential
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work independently during night hours while maintaining professionalism
- Knowledge of security procedures relevant to overnight operations is desirable
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts on a regular basis, including weekends and public holidays if required
- A friendly demeanour coupled with a proactive approach to guest service
