Do you love working outside, talking to people and getting stuck in?
We’re looking for a friendly, practical and reliable Team Leader to join us at FLÖ.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll work alongside the team, welcome guests, help prepare and run the spa, and take the lead when you are responsible for a shift.
Some days are calm and steady. Others are busy, muddy, hot, cold, wet or slightly chaotic. We need someone who can stay calm, make sensible decisions and help the team through whatever the day brings.
A little about us
FLÖ is a wild swimming and outdoor spa set within the grounds of Blackpit Farm, between Stowe and Silverstone.
We have a natural swimming lake, panoramic saunas, wood-fired hot tubs, cold plunges and outdoor spaces where people can slow down and switch off.
We’re a small, friendly team. The atmosphere is relaxed, but we take safety, cleanliness and the guest experience seriously.
The role
Your main responsibility will be running shifts and leading the team members working alongside you.
When you are leading a shift, you’ll be responsible for making sure the site opens and closes safely, the team knows what they are doing, water testing and safety checks are completed, and guests are well looked after.
You’ll be working with the team rather than standing back and supervising from a distance.
Main responsibilities
Opening and closing the venue
Briefing the team, allocating jobs and supporting everyone through the shift
Carrying out water testing and making sure records are completed correctly
Completing safety checks and making sure procedures are followed
Taking the lead during accidents, incidents or emergency situations
Handling guest complaints calmly and professionally
Welcoming guests, checking them in and sharing safety information
Lighting and maintaining the saunas and wood-fired hot tubs
Monitoring temperatures and keeping the spa running throughout the day
Helping with cleaning, laundry, towels, drinks, snacks and general site presentation
Reporting problems and leaving a clear handover for management or the next shift
Training will be provided in water testing, open-water safety, fire safety and emergency procedures.
Hours and rota
We work on a four-week rotating rota, with three weekends on followed by one weekend off. Our usual working days are Wednesday to Sunday. The role averages around 30 hours per week, but the hours are not evenly split. One week may be over 40 hours and another may be under 20 hours. Across two weeks, you’ll usually work around 60 hours in total. Shifts are a mixture of long 12 to 13-hour days and shorter half shifts, depending on bookings, demand and the rota.
We will also run different events and pop-up spas throughout the year. Some of these may fall outside the standard rota and usual working days. Any additional dates and shifts will be discussed and agreed with you beforehand.
You’ll probably enjoy this role if you
Enjoy working outside in all types of weather
Are friendly, confident and good with people
Naturally notice what needs doing and get on with it
Can lead a small team while keeping the atmosphere positive
Stay calm and practical when something unexpected happens
Are comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
Don’t mind physical work, cleaning or being on your feet
Are reliable, organised and able to follow procedures
Can work long days and weekends as part of the rota
Experience in hospitality, leisure, wellness, events or customer service would be helpful. Previous experience leading people or taking responsibility during a shift is preferred.
Experience with open-water swimming, lifeguarding, water testing or wood fires would be a bonus, but it is not essential.
What you’ll get
Free use of our swimming and sauna facilities
Complimentary drinks during shifts
Staff discounts on FLÖ experiences and café purchases
Free on-site parking
Training for the safety and operational parts of the role
A friendly team and a beautiful outdoor place to work
