Aspira Education are recruiting a confident and experienced Science Teacher to join a specialist setting in Swadlincote (DE11 0TW), supporting secondary pupils with complex needs.
This is a small, close-knit academy where personality, resilience, and attitude matter just as much as teaching ability.
Hours
- Tuesday – Wednesday: 8:10am – 3:50pm
- Thursday: 8:10am – 4:20pm
- Friday: 8:10am – 3:40pm
- 5 days per week
The Role
- Teaching KS3–KS4 Science to small groups of disengaged learners
- Delivering highly differentiated lessons tailored to SEND needs
- Supporting pupils with SEMH, trauma, and behavioural challenges
- Taking ownership of your classroom, including directing Teaching Assistants
- Contributing to wider school life including:
- Form tutor responsibilities
- Parent communication
- Behaviour management across the school
- Flexibility to teach additional subjects (e.g. PSHE) where required

- Can build rapport quickly while maintaining clear boundaries
- Is confident leading a classroom and managing support staff

Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a car with business insurance
- Willingness to:
- Transport pupils where required
- Carry out home visits / safe & well checks
- Deliver learning outside of the classroom when needed
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Two recent references
- Ability to start ASAP
