Job Overview
The Supply Chain Lead is pivotal in ensuring MEP’s supply chain runs smoothly and efficiently. By overseeing various aspects of the supply chain, from procurement to distribution to contribute significantly to the overall success of MEP Ltd.
Responsibilities
- To effectively communicate manufacturing requirements to manufacturing and then monitor the performance against those requirements.
- To identify material requirements and organise their procurement in line with agreed strategies.
- To improve / maintain MEP’s inbound supplier OTIF and Quality (97% delivery and 99.9% quality).
- To actively work in achieving best possible payment terms and purchasing to give best advantage for working capital.
- Lead end-to-end supply chain operations, from procurement and inventory management to distribution and logistics.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with quality, delivery and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Business Development, Quality, Engineering, Operations and Finance to align supply chain strategies with business goals.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing supply chain team.
- To support the Head of Operations to meet or exceed business level objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met or exceeded; report findings to senior management.
- To uphold product traceability working within an ISO90001/EN9100 quality management system.
- To uphold Health and Safety standards in yourself and others.
Person Specification - Essential
- Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations leadership.
- Strong English and Maths.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Enthusiasm and energy.
- Ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines.
- Proven flexible working within a fast-paced and dynamic team environment with demonstrated ability for working on their own initiative.
Person Specification - Desirable
- A background or interest in Manufacturing and Aerospace
- An interest or knowledge in ERP Systems.
Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year
