Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Tractor Person/Stockperson to join our agricultural team. This role involves supporting crop management, livestock care, and equipment maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of our farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, practical skills, and a passion for horticulture and animal husbandry. Responsibilities
- Operate tractors and other farm machinery safely and efficiently, including irrigation systems and power tools.
- Assist with planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance activities, ensuring optimal growth conditions.
- Provide animal care, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring of livestock.
- Perform routine equipment repairs and maintenance using hand tools and mechanical knowledge to minimise downtime.
- Conduct general farm upkeep such as fencing repairs, soil preparation, and pest control.
- Utilise basic maths skills for measurements, calculations related to fertilisation, irrigation scheduling, and inventory management.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks related to loading/unloading supplies or equipment.
- Maintain organised work areas and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or knowledge in horticulture, animal care, or farm operations is advantageous.
- Practical skills with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical repairs.
- Understanding of irrigation systems and equipment repair techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations relevant to farming tasks.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintenance routines.
- Physical fitness suitable for outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
