fore. Topsham
Why fore.
fore. started from a really simple idea. It was the place I needed when I was working full time, juggling family life and all the everyday logistics that came with it.
I wanted somewhere I could rely on for something quick, delicious and nourishing. Beautiful, colourful food that felt good to eat, without screaming health food.
Before opening, I put the idea out to the local community and the feedback echoed exactly the same need.
That is what we are building at fore.
Simple things done really well. Seasonal food. An inclusive menu with genuinely good options for everyone.
And above everything, fore. is about how we make people feel.
We want people to leave a little better than when they walked through the door.
The role
We are looking for someone hands on, autonomous and positive who wants to help shape the food side of fore. as we grow.
You will be prepping, making food, keeping the kitchen organised and helping deliver a consistently great service.
There is also room to scratch the creative itch, with genuine input into seasonal menus, new dishes, specials and our monthly pop ups with wine, nibbles and something a little different.
You do not need to be a chef.
You do need to care about good food, work cleanly and efficiently, have a great eye for presentation and be the sort of person who sees what needs doing and gets on with it.
What will you be doing?
Preparing wraps, bowls, breakfast dishes and seasonal specials
Keeping prep and service organised
Maintaining high standards of presentation and consistency
Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and well organised
Managing stock, date rotation and waste
Following food safety and allergen procedures
Helping develop seasonal dishes and new menu ideas
Supporting monthly pop ups and special events
Taking more ownership of the kitchen as the role develops
What we are looking for
Kitchen or café experience
Reliable, organised and quick
Confident working independently
Strong attention to detail
Good understanding of food hygiene and allergens
Positive and happy working in a small team
Someone with ideas who wants the opportunity to use them
Someone excited by the chance to grow with a young independent business
Why join fore.
Creative input into seasonal menus and new dishes
Opportunity to grow from three days to five days
Progression from £13 to £15 per hour following a successful three month review
Experience working inside a growing independent start up
Real responsibility and the chance to help shape the business from the beginning
Opportunity to get involved in monthly pop ups and special events
