Job Vacancy: Experienced Jig Welder
CLA Security Fencing Systems is a major manufacturer and distributor of permanent security fencing products. Due to continued company expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Jig Welder to join our busy manufacturing department in Wednesbury.
The role will involve producing steel fencing products using pre-set welding jigs. Applicants must be confident carrying out repetitive MIG welding work while maintaining consistent quality and production standards.
Applicants must have at least two years of relevant welding experience and be able to complete a weld test during the interview process.
Main duties include:
- MIG welding steel components using pre-set jigs
- Loading and positioning materials correctly within welding jigs
- Producing consistent welds to the required standard
- Reading and understanding basic engineering drawings
- Checking finished products for quality, dimensions and defects
- Using grinders and other fabrication equipment when required
- Working efficiently within a fast-paced production environment
- Following all company health and safety procedures
- Keeping the work area clean, tidy and organised
Applicants should have:
- A minimum of two years’ welding experience
- Previous experience working with welding jigs
- Good MIG welding skills
- The ability to understand engineering drawings
- Good attention to detail and quality
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A reliable attitude and strong work ethic
- Experience manufacturing fencing products is preferred but not essential
The successful applicant will report directly to the Production Manager.

Experience:
- MIG welding: Two years required
- Jig welding: Experience preferred
- Fabrication or manufacturing: Two years preferred
