DENTAL NURSE
78MPR Dental Practice
Location: 78–80 Mount Pleasant Road, Tunbridge Wells, TN1 1RJ
Hours: Full-time, five days per week, 8:30am–5:00pm
Saturday: Approximately one Saturday per month
Salary: Up to £16.00 per hour, depending on experience
About the role
78MPR is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated Dental Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.
We are a technology-driven, modern dental practice with a strong team ethos and a varied clinical environment. Our practice brings together a number of dental specialities, meaning this is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who wants to develop their skills and gain experience across different areas of dentistry.
Our team includes a paediatric dental specialist, specialist prosthodontist and oral surgeon, alongside general dentistry, hygiene and our GBT-guided biofilm therapy service.

What you'll be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality chairside nursing support to our clinicians
- Preparing surgeries and ensuring all clinical areas are fully stocked and ready for treatment
- Assisting with a wide range of general and specialist dental procedures
- Supporting our specialist paediatric, prosthodontic and oral surgery services
- Supporting hygiene appointments and GBT-guided biofilm therapy
- Assisting with dental sedation procedures where appropriately trained
- Maintaining excellent standards of cross-infection control and decontamination
- Processing instruments in accordance with practice protocols and current guidance
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Preparing materials and equipment for different treatment procedures
- Supporting the smooth running of the surgery and wider practice
- Providing a calm, reassuring and professional experience for our patients
- Maintaining excellent standards of patient care, confidentiality and professionalism
- Working collaboratively with dentists, specialists, hygienists and the wider practice team
- Taking an active role in maintaining the high clinical standards of 78MPR

Person Specification
Essential
- GDC registered Dental Nurse
- Previous experience working as a dental nurse
- Excellent standards of cross-infection control
- Good understanding of clinical procedures and surgery preparation
- Professional, caring and approachable manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable, proactive and willing to take responsibility
- Commitment to providing an excellent patient experience
- A genuine interest in developing your clinical skills
Desirable
- Sedation nursing experience or qualification
- Experience assisting with oral surgery
- Experience working with paediatric patients
- Experience in specialist prosthodontics
- Experience with GBT-guided biofilm therapy
- Additional post-qualification dental nursing qualifications
- Radiography qualification or experience
- Interest in continuing professional development
Sedation experience is desirable. We are particularly keen to hear from nurses who would like to develop their skills in sedation, and we are happy to support suitable candidates with further training and post-qualification development.
