Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Qualified Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, support dentists during procedures, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. The position is for 3 days Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8.45am - 5pm ( one hour for lunch)
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare surgeries with the necessary instruments and materials prior to appointments
- Sterilise and maintain dental equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, answering any questions they may have
- Record accurate patient details, treatment notes, and updates in dental records using IT systems
- Support with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, and stock management
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols at all times
- Offer compassionate care to patients, addressing their concerns and providing reassurance throughout their visit
Skills
- Proven experience in patient care within a dental or healthcare setting
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good IT literacy, including familiarity with dental practice management software
- Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and team members
- Knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care and infection control standards
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail
