Senior Family Support Practitioner (Weekends)

Hours: Every Saturday & Sunday (with opportunities for additional bank hours)

Connecting Families is seeking an experienced Senior Family Support Practitioner to join our Residential Family Centre team on a permanent weekend basis.
This is an opportunity to work within a specialist service supporting children and families in a professional, therapeutic and child-focused environment. We are looking for an experienced practitioner who can provide guidance to colleagues, model excellent practice and contribute to maintaining high standards across the service.
About the role
As a Senior Family Support Practitioner, you will play an important role within the team, supporting the delivery of high-quality services to children and families whilst ensuring safeguarding and professional practice remain at the centre of everything we do.
This is a varied role where you will work alongside families, liaise with professionals, maintain accurate records and support the wider team to deliver consistently high standards.
We are looking for someone with experience in:
- Children's Residential Care
- Residential Family Centres
- Children's Social Care
- Family Support
- Early Help
- Safeguarding children and vulnerable families
- Multi-agency working
Essential skills and experience
- Experience working directly with children and families.
- Excellent safeguarding knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound professional judgement.
- Confident recording and reporting information to a high standard.
- Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues.
- Flexible, reliable and able to remain calm in complex situations.
Essential requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Relevant qualification in Children's Services (or willingness to work towards one).
