The role
- Responsibility for the reception area, ensuring a clean, tidy and a nice welcoming environment for patients.
- Greet patients and visitors professionally and to the highest standards; offer coffee, direct to facilities and provide any information as required
- Check details with patient and take insurance information
- Ensure patients are comfortable during their wait and keep them updated with any clinic delays
- Manage the patient exit from the practice
- Chaperone patient from appointment to the practice office
- Collect patient feedback upon exit
- Raise invoices, take payments and create receipts
- Booking follow up appointments
- Ensure smooth exit from practice
- Support the practice where required in creating and sending appointment reminders for patients
- Generating appointment request emails
Experience
- The ideal candidate will likely have held a receptionist or front of house role previously, preferably within a medical environment, although this is not essential.
- PC experience (MS Office Suite) essential
- Practice manager software experience (desirable but not essential)
Required Qualities & Attributes
- Positive attitude and demeanor: this role is often the first experience that a patient has with London Gynaecology so it’s imperative that the candidate reflects our values.
- Sympathetic and caring: patients can sometimes be anxious or worried, a caring and sympathetic attitude is most important.
- Discreet approach: being a gynaecology practice the nature of our work is confidential and often sensitive. When speaking with patients as discreet approach is required.
- High attention to detail

The required hours are 35 hours per week covering the office 8am-8pm Monday to Friday (e.g. 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm, 12pm – 8pm shifts as required) and the occasional Saturday mornings when needed.
