Hands-on work with enterprise-level IT infrastructure, including routers, switches, servers, and SAN storage systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Equipment Testing: Run software/hardware diagnostics across routers, switches, servers, and SAN systems.
- Accurate Work Logging: Record serial numbers, test results, diagnostic fault codes, and repair actions in the tracking system.
- Refurbishment & Quality Check: Ensure repaired units meet clean visual standards and technical performance benchmarks.
- Workspace Safety: Strictly follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safe handling procedures at all times.
Structured Career Progression Pathway
Focus & Responsibilities
Phase 1 - Testing & Diagnostics
Learn ESD safety, unit prep, and how to run diagnostic routines on servers, storage, and networking hardware. Maintain precise work logging and documentation of equipment conditions and test results.
Phase 2 Test & Basic Modular Repair
Advance to diagnosing faulty modules and carrying out basic hardware repairs (replacing power supplies, RAM, fan modules, and drive backplanes). Assist senior technicians with equipment teardowns and reassembly.
Phase 3 Advanced Component-Level Repair
Learn board-level troubleshooting, soldering, and component replacement on high-density PCBs. Become a fully qualified hardware repair specialist in enterprise technology.
