A shop assistant focuses on customer service, sales, and maintaining the shop's appearance, including assisting customers, processing payments, and displaying merchandise. A prescription clerk handles administrative and operational tasks related to prescriptions, such as managing repeat prescriptions, coordinating with pharmacies, answering patient queries, and processing medication requests accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, assist them in finding products, provide recommendations, and handle complaints or enquiries.
- Process payments at the checkout, advise on new products, and work to maximise sales.
- Ensure the shop is clean, tidy, and well-organised, which includes sorting, pricing.
- Receive and process shipments, manage inventory, and assist with the visual merchandising of products.
- Coordinate and process repeat prescriptions, manage incoming and outgoing prescriptions, and ensure accurate and timely completion.
- Act as a point of contact for patients and pharmacies, answering queries about prescriptions and liaising with pharmacists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Handle data entry, generate stock lists and labels, and maintain accurate prescription records.
- Help maintain stock levels, order items, and manage the receiving of goods from wholesalers and manufacturers.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols, and ensuring the workplace is safe.
- Assist with dispensing tasks, pre-packing and labelling products, and supporting pharmacists and technicians.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- G.C.S.E. level or above
- Exceptional computer skills (Excel & Word)
- Previous experience in a Pharmacy role an advantage
- Previous knowledge of Proscript an advantage
- Smart appearance
- Able to communicate well
- Good telephone manner
- Confident person
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
