Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Hotel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. We are a small 9 bedroom country pub. with bar, restaurant and outside terrace. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to providing outstanding guest services. As the Assistant Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service and satisfaction for our guests while effectively managing staff and resources. This is a hands on position, where your bar, serving and management skills will be required at all times.
Duties
- Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance departments. Alongside Bar and restaurant duties.
- Ensure exceptional guest services by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and anticipating guest needs.
- Supervise and train staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Manage human resources functions including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and staff development.
- Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the hotel’s services and enhance brand visibility.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations as well as industry standards.
- Hotel management holiday relief will be required. approx 30 days per year where living on site will be necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience in hotel management or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of supervising diverse teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills; multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional guest services while managing multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of human resources practices within the hospitality sector is advantageous.
- A passion for hospitality with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
