Volunteer Shop Assistant – Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary (Hinckley, Coalville & Loughborough Shops)
Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary is a long‑established rescue centre caring for farm animals, domestic pets, wildlife and small animals. Our charity shops provide essential income that supports animal welfare, rehabilitation, rehoming and daily sanctuary operations. Each of our three shops plays a vital role in funding this work, and every sale directly supports the animals at Redgate.
We are looking for Volunteer Shop Assistants to join our friendly teams across Hinckley, Coalville, and Loughborough. Volunteers help keep the shops running smoothly, provide excellent customer service and support the manager and staff with daily tasks. This role is ideal for anyone who wants to give back, gain experience, meet new people and support a local animal charity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, helpful customer service.
- Sort, price and prepare donated stock.
- Keep the shop clean, tidy and well presented.
- Support with merchandising and maintaining attractive displays.
- Assist with till use and handling transactions (training provided).
- Work alongside staff and other volunteers as part of a supportive team.
- Follow shop procedures including basic health and safety and safeguarding.

- Friendly, positive and confident interacting with customers.
- Reliable and able to work as part of a small team.
- Willingness to learn and take on varied tasks.
- Good organisational skills and a helpful attitude.
- No experience needed – full training provided.
Hours
- Flexible volunteer shifts available.
- Weekday and weekend opportunities.
- Roles available at Hinckley, Coalville, and Loughborough shops.
