Duties
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold health standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, including basic ingredient handling and mise en place setup
- Support the storage and organization of ingredients, supplies, and kitchen tools to maintain an orderly workspace
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed diligently
- Help with dishwashing duties, ensuring all cookware, crockery, and cutlery are spotless and ready for use
- Maintain cleanliness in communal areas such as walk-in refrigerators, storage rooms, and staff areas
- Support the kitchen team during busy service times by providing efficient assistance wherever needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is highly desirable but not essential; enthusiasm is key!
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is a plus
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards within a commercial kitchen environment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
