Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and reliable Delivery Van Driver to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent service to our customers. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will help us maintain our reputation for dependability and professionalism. Days worked will be Wednesday to Friday, 8.00 am start . Some occasional holiday cover required .
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vans and commercial vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery schedules
- Load and unload goods, often involving heavy lifting, with proper handling techniques
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure optimal safety and maintenance standards
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and inventory records
- Assist in warehouse activities as needed, including loading supplies and organizing stock for deliveries
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role, with a strong track record of safe driving practices
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory
- Experience with van drivers or similar vehicle types preferred
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely during loading and unloading processes
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Basic warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding inventory handling procedures
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations, safety protocols, and traffic laws in the local area
