Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our vibrant dance school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. This role offers an opportunity to share your love of dance while helping students develop their technique, confidence, and enjoyment of movement. The Dance Instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging dance classes, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting a love for dance within the community.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality dance lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels
- Demonstrate proper technique and movement to students, providing clear instructions and constructive feedback
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere that encourages student participation and growth
- Organise warm-up routines, choreography, and cool-down exercises for classes and performances
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure individual development
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines during all activities
- Support the organisation of dance events, showcases, or competitions as required
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a supportive community atmosphere
Experience
- Proven experience as a dance instructor or performer with a strong understanding of various dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop)
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in dance instruction or related disciplines are preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage students of diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with children, teenagers, or adults in an educational or recreational setting is desirable
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, organisation, and enthusiasm in all aspects of teaching
- Prior experience in choreography or organising dance performances is advantageous
