Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical/Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in commercial or industrial laundry systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with a deep understanding of how they apply to laundry operations – including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining equipment used in laundry facilities (such as industrial washers, dryers, conveyors, boilers, and water reclamation systems). The role also involves working closely with operations and facility teams to ensure maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial laundry equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across all stages of the laundry process – washing, drying, ironing, folding, and packing.
- Monitor and fine-tune machinery to optimize throughput, reduce energy/water usage, and maintain high standards of textile care and hygiene.
- Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program to ensure maximum uptime and equipment longevity.
- Work closely with operations to improve workflow efficiency and plant layout.
- Maintain documentation for equipment servicing, wiring diagrams, machine manuals, and daily performance logs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, including proper handling of steam, chemicals, and hot equipment.
- Liaise with OEMs and service vendors for parts, upgrades, and major equipment repairs or replacements.
Requirements
- A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential.
- Experience working with commercial or industrial laundry systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (pumps, valves, motors, HVAC) and electrical components (control panels, PLCs, wiring).
- Knowledge of steam systems, boilers, and water heating/recycling systems is a strong plus.
- Familiar with industrial automation and control systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues under time pressure in a production setting.
- Strong understanding of safety and regulatory compliance in industrial environments.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and control diagrams.
If you are passionate about electrical or mechanical engineering and eager to contribute to innovative projects, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
