Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold health and safety standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing vegetables, peeling ingredients, and organizing supplies to support the culinary team.
- Ensure all dishes, cookware, and utensils are properly washed, sanitized, and stored after use.
- Support the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage waste disposal efficiently while adhering to recycling protocols to promote sustainability.
- Help with stock rotation and inventory organization to ensure ingredients are fresh and accessible for cooking staff.
- Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary operations.
- Familiarity with hotel or restaurant settings is a plus but not essential; training will be provided.
- A genuine interest in hospitality, cooking, or culinary arts is highly valued.
