You’ll be joining the Mango Above Bar restaurant, an independently owned bar & eatery in central Southampton serving delicious Thai Tapas and original, exciting cocktails. You will be responsible for running day-to-day operational aspects of the restaurant including supporting the manager in recruitment, training, stock management, cash management, and all aspects of health and safety. But first and foremost running great shifts on the floor and giving our guests a great experience will always be your priority.
Your duties will include:
- Assisting in the running of daily front and back of house operations working in synchrony with our kitchen team including managing staff rotas, stock, ordering, and customer bookings
- Creating and maintaining a feel-good, energetic atmosphere in the restaurant
- Championing Mango’s high standard, ensuring an excellent level of customer service
- Ensuring the venue is always clean, organised, and presentable, in line with health & safety standards
- Training & coaching new starters to ensure they meet the brand standards & achieve their potential
- Making sure the team are focused on giving an excellent level of customer service
- Working with senior management to drive sales and accomplish business objectives

Requirements for the role:
- You must have previous supervisory experience, preferably within a restaurant, but we will also consider applicants from a bar or busy cafe environment.
- Must be available for minimum 35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and the holidays, with the ability to be flexible on working days. Regular days off: Sunday and Monday, with opportunity to cover shifts at Mango in Portswood. Must be available throughout the festive period (excluding 24-26th Dec).
- Rate of pay based on level of experience.
