Job Summary
The Gibside Hotel is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Hospitality Supervisor to join our team.
This is a varied role supporting the smooth running of our events, bar and restaurant operations. The successful candidate will help lead shifts, support team members, and ensure our guests receive excellent service across weddings, functions, dining and bar service.
This role would suit someone with hospitality experience who is confident working in a busy environment and ready to take on more responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day running of the restaurant, bar and events service
- Supervise staff during shifts and help maintain high service standards
- Assist with setting up, running and closing down events, weddings and private functions
- Support food and drink service across the bar and restaurant
- Welcome guests and deal with customer queries in a professional manner
- Help ensure all areas are clean, organised and ready for service
- Assist with stock control and basic ordering where required
- Support management with training, team motivation and shift organisation
- Follow health, safety and licensing procedures at all times
- Work as part of the wider hotel team to deliver a great guest experience
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality, ideally within a hotel, bar, restaurant or events environment
- Supervisory experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- Confident communication and team-working skills
- Ability to stay calm and organised during busy service periods
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends
- Positive attitude and willingness to support different areas of the business
- Smart, professional and reliable
Pay: £13.25-£14.00 per hour
