SHIFTS YOU ARE APPLYING FOR TEMP Contract 1 – Thursday 12pm-4pm , Friday 1pm - 5pm, Saturday or Sunday 12 – 4:30pm - Total 12.5hrs , however shifts may vary due to cover needed.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic TEMP Café Assistant Team Member to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage service, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. As a Café Assistant, Team Member you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while ensuring the smooth operation of daily café activities.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverage items, ensuring adherence to food safety standards
- Operate coffee machines and prepare specialty drinks, showcasing barista skills
- Assist with food preparation, including assembling sandwiches, salads, and pastries
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including dining spaces and kitchen equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions and perform basic math calculations for order totals
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours
Requirements
- Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices is essential
- Barista experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Strong serving skills with an emphasis on customer interaction
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments
- Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- A friendly disposition with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
