Little St John’s Surgery are looking for a Receptionist to join our busy team in Woodbridge. You will need to be flexible, highly motivated and friendly with an excellent eye for detail.
The post offers 22 hours per week as follows:
Monday 13:00 19:00
Tuesday 08:00 to 13:00
Thursday 13:00 to 19:00
Friday 08:00 to 13:00
- Plus occasional Saturday mornings and cover for holidays and sickness as required. Any employment offer will be subject to a full DBS check and references.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Handle all telephone and general enquiries in a professional manner
- Make appointments for patients in accordance with practice protocols
- Ensure that messages and requests for visits are recorded and that the appropriate doctor or team members
- Ensure that any tasks requested by the clinical team are carried out
- Liaise with hospital and community staff
- Administrative duties

- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.
