Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for care, particularly for those with dementia and other cognitive impairments. This role is essential in promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being among residents through engaging activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
To work every 4 days a week, 9am - 5pm Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays. 9.00am - 12.30pm on Sundays.
Responsibilities
- Develop, organise, and implement a diverse range of activities that cater to the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and capabilities to ensure activities are suitable.
- Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and outings to enhance community engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback from residents to continually improve offerings.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to foster a supportive environment that encourages participation.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations while promoting a safe environment for all participants.
- Provide support for residents during activities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
