The 5 Bubble Award-winning Garage Spa at The Morritt Hotel is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Head Therapist to join our talented team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate therapist who is ready to take the next step in their career. Working closely with the Spa Manager, you'll help lead the therapy team, deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain the high standards that make The Garage Spa one of the North East's premier spa destinations.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis, delivering a full range of Elemis and other luxury spa treatments.
The Role
As Head Therapist, you will lead by example, combining hands-on treatments with team leadership and operational support. You'll play a key role in ensuring every guest enjoys an outstanding spa experience while supporting the development and performance of the therapy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a range of professional spa and beauty treatments to the highest standards.
- Lead, motivate and support the team of therapists to provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist the Spa Manager with the day-to-day supervision of the spa operation.
- Coach, mentor and develop therapists to help them reach their full potential.
- Support staff training, rota planning and team performance.
- Monitor treatment standards, product usage and stock levels.
- Promote retail sales, spa packages and guest experience initiatives.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and professionalism throughout the spa.
- Resolve guest queries confidently and professionally.
- Work collaboratively with the Spa Manager and wider hotel team to achieve business objectives.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds recognised Beauty or Spa Therapy qualifications.
- Has previous experience as a Senior Therapist, Lead Therapist or in a supervisory role.
- Is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Has excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.
- Is organised, proactive and thrives in a busy spa environment.
- Has strong retail awareness and enjoys contributing to commercial success.
- Leads by example with professionalism, positivity and attention to detail.
- Is flexible, reliable and enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
