Salary: £18,000 per year
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 8.15am – 5.00pm
Friday: 8.30am – 3.00pm

BOAL Extrusion UK is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Technical Services Apprentice to join our Design team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a leading aluminium extrusion manufacturer while studying towards a Level 3 Engineering Design Technician Apprenticeship with Loughborough College.
Over four years, you'll develop valuable technical skills, work on real customer projects and be supported by experienced colleagues who are invested in helping you succeed.
What you'll be doing
As part of our Technical Services team, you'll learn how to:
- Produce CAD drawings for customer and manufacturing requirements.
- Assist with technical drawings and calculations for customer quotations.
- Prepare design specifications and technical documentation.
- Support customer approval processes and packing specifications.
- Work alongside experienced engineers on live customer projects.
- Help create factory layout drawings and support improvement projects.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Develop an understanding of manufacturing processes and aluminium extrusion.

Entry requirements
You'll need:
- 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), including English, Maths and Science.
Training
You'll study towards the Level 3 Engineering Design Technician Apprenticeship, delivered by Loughborough College.
Your training will include:
- One day per week at college during term time.
- Dedicated trainer and assessor support.
- Structured on-the-job learning.
- Off-the-job training to develop your knowledge and skills.
