Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication management in accordance with individual care plans
- Support clients in maintaining their independence and dignity within care home or home care environments
- Follow prescribed care plans accurately and report any changes or concerns to senior staff
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, families, and team members
- Assist with light domestic tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation as required
- Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times, including safe handling of equipment and mobility aids
- Document all support provided accurately in accordance with organisational policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting clients in their homes or transporting them when necessary
- Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow instructions precisely
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, organised, and able to handle sensitive situations professionally
