We're recruiting on behalf of a growing food manufacturing business for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a supportive, expanding engineering team, carrying out repairs, corrective maintenance, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, shift pattern 5:30am–2:30pm & 2:30pm–11:30pm
Voluntary weekend overtime at Time + 1/4
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out engineering repairs, PPMs, audit actions and work request follow-ups
- Manage own workload and ensure effective shift handover
- Apply Health & Safety and Food Safety standards to all work
- Support colleagues and contribute to team KPIs and targets
- Manage external contractors on site, maintaining safety and housekeeping standards
- Ensure machinery and equipment meet site standards, escalating issues where necessary
- Control and manage engineering spares to maintain effective stock levels
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across engineering areas
- Communicate effectively with engineering colleagues, management and other departments on breakdowns and engineering activities
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, OR
- Completion of a 4-year approved technical apprenticeship
- 3rd/4th year apprentices and candidates with equivalent experience will be considered
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Maintenance Engineer role
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience with packing machines, conveyors, mixers, hydraulics or similar equipment
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to challenge constructively and professionally
- Understanding of environmental responsibilities
- Food manufacturing experience desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of Pirana systems desirable
- Welding skills an advantage (training provided)
