Residential Conveyancer (Fixed-Term Contract)

Salary: £36,000 per annum (pro rata)
Office Attendance: Minimum of 2 days per week in our Soham office

Staploe Solicitors LLP is an established high street law firm. We are currently undertaking an exciting period of growth as we strengthen our residential property team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join a supportive and collaborative team where your experience will be valued and where you will have the opportunity to influence how the department develops.
The role is initially offered on a three-month fixed-term contract, with a possibility for extension or a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Role
You will manage your own residential conveyancing caseload, delivering an excellent standard of client care throughout the transaction.
Our onboarding, AML and post-completion functions are supported separately, allowing you to focus on progressing transactions. You will play an important role in ensuring matters progress efficiently, clients remain informed and transactions are completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion.
Freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
Draft, review and approve contracts, transfer deeds and other legal documentation.
Raise and respond to pre-contract enquiries.
Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, brokers and other solicitors.
Keep clients informed throughout the transaction and provide clear, practical advice.
Progress matters proactively to achieve timely exchanges and completions.
Maintain accurate file records using the firm’s case management system.
Ensure compliance with SRA requirements, lender requirements and internal procedures.
Work collaboratively with our onboarding and post-completion teams to ensure a seamless client journey.
Contribute positively to the continued development of the conveyancing department.

Is willing to work from our Soham office for a minimum of two days per week.
Qualification as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive is welcomed but is not essential. Applications from experienced conveyancing fee earners with a proven track record will also be considered.
What We Offer
Salary of £36,000 - £40,000 per annum (pro rata) dependent upon experience.
Full-time fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension or a permanent position.
Hybrid working with a minimum of two days per week in our Soham office.
