CHC Caseworker / Advocate (Appeals & Assessments)

Salary: £26,000 – £40,000 basic (depending on experience)
+ performance bonus (OTE £45,000 – £60,000+)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (38.75 hours) (May consider Part Time)

Acorn Continuing Healthcare is a specialist firm supporting families with NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funding claims and appeals.

This is not a passive role, you will be actively involved in managing cases, working with clients, and contributing to outcomes.
The Opportunity
You will be involved in the full NHS CHC process, from initial enquiry through to appeal and panel representation.
The role combines analytical work, client communication, and advocacy. It is well suited to someone with an eye for detail, who wants responsibility, progression, and the opportunity to increase their earnings through performance, but ultimately has a passion to help families achieve what they are entitled to.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing CHC cases from initial enquiry through to appeal
- Speaking with families and guiding them through the process
- Reviewing records and building strong case arguments
- Drafting appeal submissions and reports
- Attending assessments with Multi-Disciplinary Teams, and appeal panels via Microsoft Teams video call (in person meetings in the rare event).
- Conducting client meetings, which are typically carried out remotely via telephone or Microsoft Teams video calls
- Maintaining regular communication with clients throughout their case
Who This Role Suits
We are open to backgrounds including:
- CHC Nurse Assessor / Nurse / Occupational Therapist / Lawyer / Solicitor / Law Graduate
- Advocacy or casework

Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (required)
- Willingness to travel to assessments, meetings, or panels where needed
- Able to work under pressure when required
- Have a can do attitude
Working Setup
- Primarily remote role with flexibility
- Office or hybrid working available depending on location and preference
- For the right candidate, an office base can be established if required
- You must be self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Regular client calls and communication will form a key part of the role
