Operations Manager
An exciting opportunity to join our team, JSJ UK are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to be a part of our team, leading the successful delivery of Bespoke Joinery projects from Design, manufacture and installation through to completion.
This role is responsible for overseeing project delivery, design coordination, production planning and operational improvement across the business. Working closely with the Managing Director, Commercial Team, Design Team, Project Managers and Workshop Management Team, the Operations Manager ensures that projects are planned, coordinated and delivered efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.
Job Role
· This is predominantly an office-based role, with site attendance required for surveys, site meetings and support for Project Managers where needed.
· Site awareness and experience of on-site Bespoke joinery installations are required
· Experience within Joinery Manufacturing industry is required
· Project or Production Management experience is required
- · The role involves working closely with the Managing Director and the Commercial Team to deliver high-end products and projects.
Key responsibilities
- Line manage the Project Managers and provide support with project delivery, procurement coordination and issue resolution where required.
- Line manage the Design Department by monitoring workloads, prioritising drawing output and ensuring drawings are produced accurately and issued on time.
- Review drawings with the Design Team during development and before revisions are submitted to the client for comment, approval or sign-off.
- Review tender drawings and provide design and joinery construction advice during handover meetings with the Design and Workshop teams.
- Review project information and drawings, identifying queries, omissions or missing information at an early stage.
- Early engagement with Clients on project design & site surveys, including organisation of meetings with JSJ team and client’s representative(s)
- Work closely with the Workshop Management Team to support effective coordination between Design and Production
- Identify requirements for early engagement and coordination with specialist suppliers to ensure delivery deadlines can be met
- Lead weekly operational meetings covering site labour scheduling, production capacity planning, workload priorities and project delivery requirements
- Review, develop and implement company processes, procedures and documentation with support of MD and Senior Management
- Regularly review company Health & Safety documentation and liaise with external Health & Safety consultants where required
- Support performance management activity for Project Managers and the Design Team, including identifying training needs, contributing to appraisals and supporting improvement plans where required.
- Support recruitment activity for site-based operatives, Project Management and Design Department roles, including interviewing, selection and onboarding support.

Hours: Permanent – Usual working hours are 7:30am-16:30 Mon-Thurs & 7:30am - 15:00 Friday. (41 hours per week).

Applicant Qualifications
- Must have Project or Production Management experience?
- Accredited Qualification in Joinery/Construction Industry (NVQ)
- Located within 30-40 Miles from PR2 2AX
- Minimum 5 years experience in Bespoke Joinery Project Management: more than 5 years (preferred)
- Have a current SMSTS or SSSTS qualification or recently expired would be beneficial or not essential.
- Valid clean driving licence.
