About the Role
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our Education Service as a Community Focused Schools Lead Officer.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Community Focused Schools (CFS) agenda, working collaboratively with schools, families, and partners to ensure that schools are at the heart of their communities. You will help strengthen family engagement, build multi-agency partnerships, and improve outcomes for children and young people across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
You will work closely with the School Improvement Officer to:

Plan, coordinate and deliver Community Focused Schools programmes
- Support schools to enhance engagement with families, carers, and communities
- Develop and implement Community Engagement Plans based on local needs
- Build strong multi-agency partnerships (e.g. health, wellbeing, third sector)
- Lead and coordinate engagement events, workshops, and activities
- Capture and respond to parent and community voice
- Deliver professional learning and training, including poverty-sensitive practice
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of engagement activities
- Contribute to local and national CFS developments and networks
