Location Silverstone Park, Northants
Salary: £37,000–£40,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday–Friday, Days (optional overtime available)
The Role
You will set, operate and (where capable) programme CNC milling machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances. Work includes one offs, small batches and repeat production, all from detailed engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC 3 axis milling machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Produce components to tight tolerances with strong attention to detail.
- Adjust offsets, tooling and workholding to maintain quality and productivity.
- Carry out first off and in process inspections using micrometers, verniers, height gauges etc.
- Complete basic machine maintenance and workshop housekeeping.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities on tooling, cycle times and processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller in a precision engineering environment.
- Ability to set and run CNC mills independently.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
- Confident using precision measuring equipment.
- Good problem solving ability and a quality driven mindset.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience with Siemens controls.
- CAD/CAM experience (Mastercam).
- Formal engineering qualifications (NVQ3, City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC).
