Job Details:
Noah Law MP is looking for a skilled Administrative Officer to join his team. The successful candidate will support Noah’s constituency and Parliamentary work across St Austell and Newquay, through the triage and action of emails, telephone calls and social media enquiries, handling general enquiries, taking actions and minutes of meetings, and ensuring overall administrative efficiency in the office. This will include management of some casework in support of Casework staff, at times managing a small caseload of their own, and joining the MP in attending events or visiting constituents. They will also take responsibility for the administration and organisation of events and security apparatus as required, and keep track of invoices and receipts.
The role will be based either in the constituency office or London office, following negotiation upon successful offer of the role. The successful candidate will report directly to the Office Manager, with other delegating of some tasks from the Parliamentary Assistant and Noah.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and dedicated to supporting a busy MP in a fast-paced environment. They will have a commitment to the Labour Party and its aims and values, and shall also be knowledgeable of Noah’s areas of interest.
The role also involves general office duties such as answering calls, coordinating with external agencies, and drafting complex correspondence. The successful candidate should be able to handle enquiries efficiently, prioritise competing demands, and take initiative within a busy office setting. While the focus shall be administrative duties, the successful applicant will support other duties where required.
There may be a requirement to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for visits occasionally, including supporting with constituency surgeries.
This role is a full time role (40 hours per week) until March 31st, 2027, in the first instance. Extensions to the contract will be subject to other factors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the compilation of briefing packs
- Assist in the updating of social media on request
- Assist in the writing of speeches
- Assist with arrangements for events; this may include: venue research and bookings; compiling and managing guest-lists; liaising with suppliers; and providing on-the-day event support as required
- Database management using office software (e.g. Microsoft Office) to handle administrative cases
- Diary Management
- Efficient data and file management to ensure the office complies with the data protection legislation
- Engage professionally, confidentially and with care and integrity with members of the public, through a variety of methods
- Exposure to complex cases
- Handling administrative arrangements for meetings with members of the public/MP surgeries
- Liaise with suppliers when required regarding office supplies and security
- Minute taking and actions from meetings
- Open, handle and action email, post and social media enquiries
- Photocopying, filing, record-keeping and typing correspondence
- Provide administrative support in relation to MP's expenses scheme via IPSA Online
- Respond to enquiries by telephone, e mail and social media, passing on queries to another team members/MP as appropriate
Additional Responsibilities:
- There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal hours and travel for work occasionally
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent administrative skills
- Experience of working in a busy office
- Experience of previous administrative work, including file management, accounts and diary management
- Ability to handle challenging situations
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
- Awareness and understanding of current affairs and policy issues
- A can-do and proactive attitude
- Sympathy towards the aims and objectives of the Labour Party
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team
- Personable and able to communicate with people from all backgrounds
- Excellent time management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft systems
- Whilst not required, a working knowledge of the Caseworker software and IPSA Online systems is desired
