Part-Time Caretaker – Wedding & Events Venue
We are looking for a reliable, flexible and proactive Part-Time Caretaker to join our team at our busy wedding and events venue.
This is a varied, hands-on role that is essential to the smooth running of weddings and events. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining our beautiful venue to a high standard while providing support during events.
Hours of Work
- 16–30 hours per week, depending on the event schedule.
- Hours will vary from week to week.
- Applicants must be flexible and available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends and occasional late nights to meet the demands of the wedding and events industry.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Opening the venue and carrying out pre-event building checks.
- Maintaining a presence on site throughout the agreed working hours.
- Locking up at the end of each event, ensuring all doors and windows are secure, lights are switched off and toilets have been checked.
- Monitoring the venue's heating system and taking meter readings before each event.
- Being familiar with and following all fire safety procedures and regulations.
- Setting up and clearing away tables, chairs and other event furniture.
- Assisting with the in-house PA and music system during events.
- Undertaking light cleaning duties as required.
- Ensuring the venue is cleared and left tidy at the end of each event.
- Liaising with the Events Manager regarding bookings and event set-ups.
- Carrying out minor grounds maintenance, including keeping all external areas clean, tidy and free from litter.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A flexible approach to work.
- The ability to work independently and use their own initiative.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- A practical, hands-on attitude with a willingness to help wherever required.
- Basic knowledge of PA/audio systems (or a willingness to learn).
Essential Requirements:
- Previous caretaking, maintenance or venue experience is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks, including moving tables, chairs and event equipment.
- A positive, reliable and professional attitude.
Pay: £13.66 per hour
