We are looking to recruit a dynamic and inspirational nursery manager to join our team on a full/part time basis (minimum of 3 days per week). The manager would be required to take full management responsibilities of the childcare setting on a day-to-day basis overseeing that the staff are fulfilling their jobs to meet the needs of the children within our care, and to ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by all. The nursery manager is responsible to the nursery owners and operations managers.
A level 3 or above in childcare is required. A qualification in leadership & management, paediatric first aid and first aid at work are desired. A clear enhanced DBS is mandatory, registration of the update service is applicable to all employees of Honey Pot and every DBS is subject to regular check at the owner’s discretion. Two references must also be provided.
The manager will be required to:
Ensure compliance with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Have key holder responsibilities
Ensure effective care and supervision of children within the setting.
Ensure that the educational programs consist of a broad range of experiences and span the seven areas of learning, which help children make progress towards the early learning goals.
Ensure understanding and compliance with the safeguarding and welfare, learning and development and assessment requirements of the EYFS. Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of the safeguarding and child protection practice. Ensure the security of children and premises are upheld.
Ensure regular and precise self-evaluation and demonstrate a clear drive for improvement. Identify strengths and weaknesses through thorough and accurate self-evaluation, monitoring, analysis, and self-challenge.
Ensure under performance is tackled swiftly and robustly. Ensure accountability arrangements are understood and consistently applied.
Meeting all targets set out by nursery owners.
Keeping and monitoring accident, incident, and risk assessment records.
Be fully aware and compliant with most recent publication of the document ‘working together to safeguard children’, in line with LCSP.
Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the nursery owners.
Experience required:
Experience of working with children & young people is mandatory
At least 3 years’ experience of management in a childcare setting is essential
Experience of dealing with finances, fees and budgets is desired
The manager will be expected:

The manager will be expected:
To communicate regularly with the Nursery Owners & Operations Managers
To ensure the smooth running of the setting on a day-to-day basis
To organise regular staff meetings to update staff on any new ideas/implementations and to address any issues
To implement all nursery policies and procedures and adhere to the company’s handbook and code of conduct.
To assist in maintaining the cleanliness and serviceability of the nursery and equipment, toys, books, and all other resources.
