Overview
We are seeking a self-employed driver to join our team, responsible for delivering ready assembled bedroom furniture efficiently and safely nationwide. This role offers flexible working arrangements and requires a reliable individual with excellent driving skills and a professional attitude. The successful candidate will operate a 3.5T Luton with a tail lift.
The successful candidate will manage deliveries independently, complete paperwork, ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and secure transportation of furniture.
Please note at times drivers will need to be available from 6am. Drivers will be given at least 12 hours notice before a delivery.
On occasion the driver will be required to stay out over night.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate your own vehicle to deliver furniture to designated locations within the agreed schedule.
- Load and unload items using the tail lift, ensuring proper handling and securing of the furniture.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with clients, dispatch teams and the office.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure safe transportation at all times.
- Conduct routine daily vehicle checks to ensure it is in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining high standards of service quality.
Qualifications
- Proven delivery driver experience with a clean driving record.
- Valid UK driver’s licence. Licence checks are conducted regularly.
- Experience with commercial driving and operating various types of vehicles, mainly lorries or vans.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, particularly loading and unloading vans.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, team members and office staff.
- Ability to work independently, organise schedules, and manage time effectively.
- Physical fitness to handle long periods of driving.
- Passport would also be required.
