About Oracle Managed Services:
Oracle Managed Services is a specialist facilities management and building compliance company operating across London and the UK. We deliver a full range of FM services including fire safety, passive fire protection, mechanical and electrical maintenance, building fabric repairs, and Building Safety Act compliance to major property management clients including CBRE, JLL, and Rendall & Rittner. We combine deep technical expertise with modern technology to ensure buildings are safe, compliant, and well managed.
This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn and build a career in one of the most in-demand areas of construction: passive fire protection. Working alongside our experienced fire door installers and supervisors, you'll learn how to install, upgrade and maintain fire doors to the highest compliance standards, and we'll put you through recognised industry courses as you progress. No previous fire door experience is required, just a genuine interest in carpentry, a strong work ethic and reliability. Some hands-on trade, labouring or DIY experience is a plus.
What you'll learn and do
- Assist qualified installers with fitting fire doorsets, frames and flat entrance doors.
- Learn to fit intumescent and smoke seals, ironmongery (closers, hinges, locks), glazing and signage.
- Learn why fire doors matter and how they're regulated, including compliance standards such as BS 8214 and third-party certification requirements.
- Help with site preparation, material handling, safe removal of old doors and keeping work areas clean and safe.
- Learn to check completed installations for compliance and record works with photos and documentation.
- Attend funded training courses as you progress (e.g. fire door installation and awareness courses, with routes towards FIRAS/BM TRADA certification and NVQ Level 2 Carpentry via on-site assessment).
- Follow all health & safety procedures, RAMS and site rules, and take part in toolbox talks.
- Communicate politely with residents, clients and site teams.
What we're looking for
- A genuine interest in carpentry, construction or fire safety.
- Reliable, punctual and keen to learn.
- Able to follow instructions carefully.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work.
- Some experience with hand tools or general site/trade work is desirable but not essential.
- CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one, we can support with this).
- Able to travel to sites across, London and surrounding areas.
What we offer
- Fully funded industry training courses (fire door installation, with progression towards FIRAS/BM TRADA certification and NVQ routes)
- Support with the supply of tools
- Rate reviews as you gain skills and qualifications
- Mentoring from experienced installers and supervisors
- Consistent, long-term work with a growing specialist contractor
