Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Service Department Manager to lead our servicing operations. This is a hands-on management role overseeing the planning, scheduling, and delivery of maintenance and repair works for sewage treatment plants, pump stations, and borehole abstraction systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineers, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely, maintaining excellent customer relationships, and helping drive the continued success of our service department.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the service department.
- Schedule and coordinate engineers for servicing, maintenance, repairs, and emergency call-outs.
- Oversee servicing works for sewage treatment plants, pump stations, and borehole abstraction systems.
- Prepare quotations and pricing for servicing, repairs, and remedial works.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory control to ensure parts availability.
- Provide technical support to engineers and customers where required.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service.
- Monitor department performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and company policies.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience managing or supervising a service or engineering department.
- Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Experience working with sewage treatment plants, pump stations, water treatment, or similar industries would be advantageous.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and service management or scheduling software.
- Proven experience in scheduling engineers and managing workloads.
- Experience preparing quotations, pricing work, and understanding cost structures.
- Knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Full UK driving licence

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
